Exotic Garden

From the large, covered pergola we enter the Exotic Garden with its fountain cleverly discharging its water inwards rather than outwards. This design trick by its creator, Giles Raynor, is clever for the water turns inwards thereby lessening the drift on a windy day. There are two ponds here, the fountain pond and one for wildlife although policed regularly by a heron, fish stand little chance of reaching maturity. Here are Bananas, Musa basjoo, Tetrapanax papyrifera ‘Rex’ and Palm trees with Hedychium’s, Impatiens, Slavia’s, Cannas and many more strange plants.
